The Twos class meets twice-weekly in the morning. A parent or caregiver only attends one class a week with the child.
The class begins with exploration and free play at the learning centers in the classroom. The learning centers change often and include activities such as painting at the easel, play dough, sensory table filled with tactile objects, dress-up, pretend kitchen area, blocks, puzzles, and library area.
Following free play, the class sits down together to enjoy a snack brought by parents on a rotating basis. The sharing of snack is an opportunity to build fine-motor and social skills.
After snack, the children participate in a group circle time with music and movement, stories, dramatic play, and group games.
Following snack, the class engages in gross-motor play, either inside using our climber and other play equipment such as cars, scooters, balls, etc., or outside on the lawn or at Volunteer Park (weather permitting).
To close the day the children gather for a goodbye song and stamp.
